Welcome to Dorinda's Africa In Schools Online

Welcome to our membership site where content is updated regularly.  It is a feast of cooking, educational travel documentary and storytelling all brought to you by the international TV presenter and Author, Dorinda Hafner.  It is designed to be used as a resource for teachers wishing to bring food, culture and storytelling to the classroom using the talents and reach of Dorinda Hafner known in over 48 countries for her television series on Channel 4 in the UK and PBS in the U.S.

As a member you have continuous access to the full content at this site.  It is a rich resource where you can use the themes within each video for direct learning, or take your students into tangents that twist and turn - restricted only by your imagination.  Cook a recipe, or demonstrate it using Dorinda as your guide.  Invite your class to Mali, West Africa for instance and explore, with Dorinda, the rich culture, sights, sounds and food history.  Or, for the younger audience, learn how African families and western ones alike use these little stories of animals and others to teach good moral values, but be enthralled and entertained along the way.

Encourage a celebration in your classroom, school and community - a celebration of uniqueness and diversity.

Interactivity is built into the program. For Platinum Members, Dorinda can beam in "live" over the internet to your classroom to interact with your students and give you an online experience like no other.  And as you advance with the program, students in a class in one part of the world will be able to interact online seamlessly with another in a completely different state or country, and at the same time have Dorinda be part of the experience.  This technology can be implemented at your school and your own content can be shared with the world!  The program is designed to reach the most number of people and to be affordable to everyone - get started today.
